WORD FOR THE WISE: PROVERBS

Fwd: PROVERB OF THE DAY 26:22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

The old saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me," is refuted by the truth of this proverb. Words DO hurt. Words ARE powerful. In fact, the battle of good and evil in the world is fought fundamentally through the use of WORDS. So then, how important are YOUR words when spoken either to build up or to tear down another person? We must be careful that we are not those who hurt others by our words because we do not truly know how deep such wounds will go. Our words may aid and abet either good or evil, and for some, even unto eternity. Let our words be to the glory of God, the spreading of His gospel, and the edifying of those who hear them. If they are not, let us keep silent. For every idle word will be brought before the Lord in judgment.
