WORD FOR THE WISE: PROVERBS

PROVERB 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Many things we aspire to do are not naturally in a line with God's Sovereign will. Our thoughts then, must be conformed to the mind of God. When we commit our works to God, we are seeking to know His will, and how our plans, goals, desires, and aspirations correspond to that which best pleases Him. This we do by prayer. And in our prayers, we must submit to God's will, leaving the final say with Him! Once we are graced to do this, God is faithful to bring about an affirmation or denial of our thoughts, usually, as we are continuing to read, study, and meditate upon His word, and as we remain under the preaching of the Word. The litmus test as a starting point in assessing all of our thoughts is this question: Is this to the glory of God? From there we must commit our works unto the LORD, who alone will establish and bring to pass His will for our good and His glory.
