Word of the Day

“Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?”
Psalms‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭

Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? That is a really good question, the psalmist is contemplating the qualifications of the person who will be worthy of dwelling in Heaven. “The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalms‬ ‭14:2-3. God who sees all things, had all humanity pass before him, every person who would ever be born. When God looked at all of humanity according to the text all he saw was filthy sinners. There was none that doeth good there is none that seeks after God all have gone out of the way. When the scripture says none that means none; when the scripture says all it means all. So again the question arises who shall dwell in thy holy hill? If we follow the logic of scripture and we see that all of mankind are seen as sinners then no one is worthy of Heaven. “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.” Psalms‬ ‭15:2-4‬. No man except for Christ fulfills these qualifications. Christ always walked up rightly there was no man that could convince him of sin. When one reads the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; Jesus never did evil against any one. And those who truly feared the Lord always came to Christ. But the most amazing thing is that Christ truly did swear to his own hurt and changed not. In Genesis 15, Abraham was given an revelation. The Father and Son made a covenant, the Son promised to be the redeemer of the elect. Christ would accomplish this redemption by sacrificing his life. “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.” John‬ ‭10:17‬. By humbling himself and dying on the cross Christ fulfilled the terms of the covenant. So now we have our answer who shall dwell in thy holy hill, Christ and all the elect of God who by faith trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Acts 16:31
