Word of the Day.
“But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.” Exodus 11:7

This text comes from the book of Exodus which records how God liberated the Israelite nation from Egyptian bondage. God worked through his servant Moses to set his people free, while all at the same time putting on display His might and power and got glory to Himself. This text speaks of the very last plague. The death of the first born which was about to take place the next night. When we play close attention to the text that we see something most people gloss over. "That ye may know that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." What this means is that this plague would be a tool used by God to separate His people from those what were not His people. Now how would this separation take place? This would be done by blood. In the next chapter God gives instruction on how to escape the coming plague. The people were told to kill a lamb and put the blood of the lamb on the top and sides of the door post. When the plague came through the land any house that was not covered in the blood, then the first born would be killed. But if blood was on the door then the plague would pass over that house. Now according to the scriptures Jesus Christ is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world John 1:36. This text does not mean the whole world it means only those who God has chosen. Only those who will place all their trust in the blood of Jesus. Those who trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ will be safe on the last day. There is a difference between Israel and The Egyptians. “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:31. Those who place their trust in Christ are true Israelites and those who place their trust in any thing other than Christ are Egyptians and will pay the price for their sins.
