Word of the Day

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:27‬ ‭

Will God indeed dwell on the earth? This question was asked by King Solomon who was the second wisest man to ever live. I say second wisest because Christ in all things has preeminence. Man is finite that means that we have limitations and bounds that we can not exceed. But God is infinite, He is limitless in power and authority. As we have discussed before God is omnipotent all powerful, omniscience all knowing and omnipresent everywhere at all times. The promise of the Messiah, the one who would save His people from their sins was a mystery. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬. All Old Testament believers saw this mystery through eyes of faith. They believed in the promises of God, but did not full understand how salvation would be accomplished. They did not receive the full revelation until the birth of Christ. “For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” Luke‬ ‭2:30-32‬. After the birth of Christ the Holy Spirit revealed to the elect that the Messiah had come. Will God indeed dwell on earth? The answer to that question is revealed in scripture. “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew‬ ‭1:21-23‬. The Bible says that Jesus is God with us. That means that God indeed dwelled up the earth. To back this further one may read John chapter 1. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John‬ ‭1:1‬. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” John‬ ‭1:14, 17-18‬.
For all those who believe on Christ, he is their salvation. Acts 16:31
